With Dubai set to welcome tourists again from July 7, British Airways is set to resume flights to Dubai from next month.
According to local media reports, the airline will begin flights between London Heathrow and Dubai International Airport (DXB) from July 17, becoming one of the first non-local airlines to resume operations to Dubai when it does. Initially the flights will operate every other day, increasing to daily flights from August 1.
In accordance with British Airways’ updated travel rules, all travellers will be provided with PPE kits including antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser gel, face masks must be worn at all times throughout flights and passengers should limit their movement throughout the cabin.
Upon arrival in Dubai, new guidelines have been issued for residents returning to Dubai who’ve been stuck out of the country since travel restrictions were implemented, tourists arriving into Dubai, and residents who travel abroad from June 23. While residents will be tested for Covid-19 upon arrival and quarantine until their results arrive, tourists will be required to provide a negative Covid-19 test, taken no more than 96 hours before flying. Those that don’t will be tested upon arrival at DXB.
Emirates has been offering a daily flight to London Heathrow since May 21, and has more recently added a second UK destination, Manchester, to its UK portfolio. From July 15, the Dubai-London route will be serviced by Emirates’ A380 super jumbo.
