Edu Gaspar, the new Sporting Director of English Premier League side Arsenal, is in Rwanda on holiday.
The Brazilian and his family arrived in the country on Saturday morning aboard RwandAir from London, United Kingdom.
Edu’s visit is part of the partnership between the ‘Visit Rwanda’ brand and Arsenal, as the club’s inaugural sleeve sponsor and official tourism partner.
During their stay, they will experience Rwanda’s incredible culture, adventure and wildlife.
Edu was part of the Arsenal’s ‘Invincibles, who are famous for winning the 2003-04 Premier League title and going 49 league games unbeaten.
He is the third member of the ‘Invincibles’ to visit Rwanda after Robert Pires and Ray Parlour who were in the country in February.
Edu’s visit comes just hours after Arsenal appointed him as their first-ever Sporting Director as a reward to the incredible job he did to fix the club’s performance struggles with the team. The London based side is top of the Premier League table with 37 points, five ahead of second-placed Manchester City.
Edu’s promotion will see him assume responsibility of the club’s Academy activities, in addition to his existing responsibilities across men’s and women’s football.
