Yesterday, Canon announced the availability of new firmware updates for the EOS R (Version 1.3.0) and EOS RP (Version 1.2.0), demonstrating its commitment to full-frame mirrorless cameras.
Providing photographers with the latest technical innovations available, the new firmware update offers enhanced compatibility with Canon’s newly launched RF lenses and improved image quality in low-light shooting scenarios, which guarantees users can get the best results from their camera.
The new firmware update for the EOS R and EOS RP provides support when using Canon’s RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM lens. Launched in July 2019, the RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM is a portable and versatile 10x zoom lens that is ideal for everything from wide-angle landscapes to frame-filling portraits, and even close-up sport and wildlife.
The upgrade also corrects the darkening phenomenon which occurs at the top of some images captured during high‐speed sync shooting with an external flash.
The firmware updates for the EOS R and EOS RP will be available to download from all Canon websites under support, from Thursday 22nd August 2019.
