Skyward Airlines, one of Kenya’s fastest-growing domestic carriers, has announced the launch of scheduled flights to Vipingo Ridge, marking a strategic expansion into one of the country’s most exclusive coastal destinations. The airline will commence twice-weekly operations to the prestigious golf and lifestyle estate starting 13th February 2026, with Friday and Sunday flights connecting travelers from Wilson Airport to the championship resort. The announcement follows a strategic partnership agreement signed between the management of Vipingo Ridge and Skyward Airlines at the airline’s headquarters at Wilson Airport. The collaboration underscores both organizations’ commitment to enhancing accessibility to Kenya’s coastal treasures while supporting the growth of domestic tourism and hospitality.
Speaking during the partnership signing ceremony, Skyward Airlines’ leadership emphasized that the new route aligns with the airline’s mission to connect travelers to both underserved destinations and premium leisure offerings across Kenya. “Since our establishment in 2013, Skyward Airlines has focused on bridging the gap between Kenya’s major hubs and unique destinations that deserve better connectivity. Vipingo Ridge represents the epitome of coastal luxury—a world-class golf resort, wildlife sanctuary, and lifestyle destination that has been challenging to access for many travelers. Our decision to launch this route is driven by increasing demand from golfers, tourists, and those seeking an exceptional coastal experience.” The sentiment was echoed by Vipingo Ridge management, who welcomed the partnership as a transformative step in making the 2,000-acre estate more accessible to both domestic and international visitors. “Vipingo Ridge has established itself as Kenya’s premier golf destination, home to East and Central Africa’s only PGA-approved course and PGA Academy. This partnership with Skyward Airlines will significantly enhance our accessibility, allowing more guests to experience our championship Baobab Course, pristine Beach Club at Kuruwitu Marine Park, and the unique blend of luxury accommodation and wildlife sanctuary that defines our offering.”
Starting 13th February 2026, Skyward Airlines will operate flights on Fridays and Sundays between Wilson Airport and Vipingo Ridge, with fares starting from as low as Ksh 13,260 one way. The new route strengthens Skyward Airlines’ coastal network, which already includes popular destinations such as Mombasa, Ukunda (Diani), Malindi, and Lamu. The launch also marks another milestone for Skyward Airlines as the carrier continues its impressive growth trajectory. Recently rebranded from Skyward Express, the airline now operates a modern fleet of 16 aircraft, including Fokker 50s, 70s, and 100s, as well as Dash 8 series turboprops, serving 11 destinations across Kenya and East Africa. Since inception, the airline has carried over 1 million passengers and was recognized as Second Runners-Up in the Best Domestic Airline category at the 2025 Kenya Travel Industry Business Awards (KeTIBA).

With operations from both Wilson Airport and Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Skyward Airlines has positioned itself as a reliable choice for Kenyan travelers seeking convenient connections, transparent pricing, and dependable service—all under the airline’s #FlyEasy promise. Vipingo Ridge, located near Kilifi on Kenya’s North Coast, is recognized as one of Africa’s finest residential and leisure destinations. The estate features an 18-hole PGA championship golf course designed by former Kenya Open winner David Jones, a private Beach Club, diverse wildlife including zebra, giraffe, and eland roaming freely within the grounds, and luxury villa accommodations.
The destination has been shortlisted for Best Golf Resort, Best Conference Hotel, and Best Luxury Hotel in the Kenya Tourism Awards 2025.
