Role Description The Safari and Travel Designer is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi. This role involves consulting with clients to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and special requirements, and designing tailored itineraries for safaris, beach holidays, corporate trips, and group tours.
The Safari and Travel Designer will coordinate all travel arrangements, including flights, transfers, accommodations, excursions, and special activities, while ensuring accurate and timely reservations. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed proposals and quotations, managing booking confirmations, handling changes or cancellations, and maintaining clear communication with clients and partners. The role also includes providing high-quality customer service before, during, and after travel, tracking trip progress, and resolving issues to ensure an exceptional client experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Travel Consulting and Travel Management, with the ability to design customized itineraries for diverse client needs.
- Candidates should possess skills in Travel Arrangements and Reservations, including booking flights, accommodations, transfers, and activities with high accuracy.
- Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills, with a focus on responsiveness, problem-solving, and relationship building.
- Candidates should possess solid organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple bookings and deadlines efficiently.
- Candidates should possess strong communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.
- Candidates should possess good knowledge of safari destinations, regional and international travel routes, and tourism products, especially within Kenya and East Africa.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with booking platforms, CRM systems, and standard office software (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing).
- Relevant diploma or degree in Travel and Tourism, Hospitality, Business, or a related field, and prior experience in a tours and travel agency or similar environment are highly beneficial.
